Snow Chains Compatible With 245/45R19 Tires On 2017 Kia Sportage With Alloy Wheels
Question:
I have a 2017 KIA Sportage with 245/45R19 tires with alloy wheels. The manual calls for wire style snow chains for this because of the wheels. Can you help me?

The wire style snow chains are known as Class S compatible. They are often called cable or spring chains, but the Class S part is what matters because it is limited clearance in the inside between the tire and other components. There are some chain styles that have this minimal clearance as well and are Class S compatible to work with your 2017 Kia Sportage.
We don't have spring cable chains compatible with your specific tire size but we do have Class S compatible options in better traction chains. We have two options for you that I recommend. Both are really high quality chains that install easy and will protect your vehicle while offering superior traction to the cable or spring style chains.
The Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - XG12 Pro - Size 245 # TH01594245 are made of manganese nickel alloy steel, have anti-scratch nylon bumpers to protect your rims, and are color coded to help with installation. They include a storage container, kneeling mat, gloves, and instructions. These chains require 12 mm of internal clearance.
The Thule Self-Tensioning, Low-Pro Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - Easy Fit SUV - Size 245 # TH04115245 are slightly easier to install with the built in pedal to activate center tensioning. It is made of the high quality and corrosion resistant metal. It has a quick release for removal. It has a storage bag that doubles as a kneeling mat and includes instructions. These chains require 10 mm of internal clearance.
These are both great chain options with low profile design and simple installation. I've included videos of similar installations for you.
