Is it Possible to Use Too High Rated of a Weight Distribution System
Question:
Is there ever a case of buying too much hitch? I have a 2013 Ram 2500 and am towing a travel trailer with a GTW of 6855 and a hitch weight of 670. Both of which are dry weights. Approximately 10,000 and 1000 loaded weights. Looking on recommendations of which hitch weight to purchase. Thanks!

Yes, if you use a weight distribution system that is rated too high for the tongue weight of a trailer the ride quality will be incredibly stiff and harsh. You want to ideally pick a system that has a tongue weight range where your tongue weight falls right in the middle.
The Equalizer Kit part # EQ37100ET has a tongue weight range of 600-1,000 lbs and would be ideal for you.
