Recommended Tire Snow Chains For 1988 Chevy C/K Series Pickup With 265/75R16 Tires
Question:
I noticed there is a tag on your roller chains that indicate which side and tire rotation. My driveway is downhill and once at the bottom, I will have to back up the hill in reverse. So my main need for chains is in reverse. Will these meet the need? Do I install them opposite your instructions so backing up is best suited? I do my own driveway and do not intend to drive on the street. So my main question...how good do these work in reverse? My tires are 265/75 R16...4x4

For your 265/75R16 tires, the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains - 1 Pair # PW2028C are a confirmed fit. You will not want to install these backwards to drive in reverse as they are intended to function in reverse as well when installed as stated in the instructions. These are intended to be used with Glacier Multi-Arm Rubber Adjusters - Light-Truck Chains - 15" to 18" Rims - 1 Pair, # PW105. The ladder pattern will give you the traction you need for your sloped driveway in snowy conditions where a little extra traction s needed.
For slightly more traction, I recommend the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - 1 Pair, # TC2326. These chains are still Class S compatible, but will have a square link and a diamond pattern to offer more tire coverage. These chains are made of a much more durable manganese nickel alloy and they have integrated tensioners. These chains will also function well in reverse.
