Question:
What is the minimum tongue weight for the Curt 17500 WD Hitch? C17500 Would it work well for a 600-700lbs tongue and suv rear cargo weight ie behind rear axel setup?

Expert Reply:
Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17500 is rated for 800 to 1,000 pounds tongue weight so 800 pounds is the minimum. A total tongue weight of 600 to 700 pounds including any cargo carried behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle would be too light.
If the tongue weight is 600 to 700 pounds I recommend Fastway system # FA92-00-0800 rated for a maximum of 800 pounds tongue weight and 8,000 pounds gross trailer weight. The only other part needed is a ball, # 63840. I have linked a video review for you. I have also linked help articles on determining tongue weight and weight distribution.
