Question:

will the thule 02230K77 fit on my 2007 expedition 4x4 with 275 55 R20 tires. I assume they would go on the rear wheels. also do I need the 21mm lug adapters

Thule does not recommend the Thule K-Summit XXL Premium, Self-Adjusting Snow Tire Chains, item # TH02230K77, or any other, for your vehicle with 275/55-R20 wheel and tire combination.

The only chains I can safely recommend for that tire size are the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains for Light Trucks, item # PW3027C. You will need to check the clearance of your tires between the tread and wheel wells, and the sidewalls and tread to make sure there is at least 15mm of clearance all of the way around at all points, since this is not a standard tire size for your vehicle. You will not need lug adapters with these chains but the Glacier Rubber Adjusters, item # PW99, will help keep the chains tight on the tires.

You would mount one pair of chains on the main drive wheels, in this case the rear wheels. I have posted an article with information about snow chains for you to review.
