Since all trailer tires have to adhere to the same DOT standards the key in selecting new tires is to match the size and load range to the trailer weight. It is also important to operate the tires within their speed rating and to keep them fully-inflated to the maximum cold psi pressure noted on the tire sidewall. Overloading a tire or operating it at too high a speed both generate excess heat, and heat is a trailer tire's worst enemy.
That said, I do like the Taskmaster tires we offer because they often carry a higher speed rating than other special trailer tires. Most trailer tires are rated for 65-mph maximum speed, but the Taskmaster radial tires often have a speed rating of M, which is 81-mph maximum. This type of tire is absolutely better for interstate highway driving where speed limits can exceed 70-mph.
All Taskmaster radial trailer tires we offer are shown on the linked page. These are offered in various sizes and load range ratings. Click on your tire size to see all options.
For instance, in a ST235/80R16 size the tire # TTWTRTM2358016E is a Load Range E radial tire that can handle 3,520 lbs at 80 psi. This tire is rated for up to 81-mph speeds.
