Brake Controller Recommendations for a 2014 Toyota Tundra SR5 with Tow Package
Question:
Sorry to keep bothering you but I am told I need a brake controller for my 2014 Toyota Tundra SR5 with hitch package. Will you please recommend your very best and next to very best brake controller that will work on my truck and 35 foot travel trailer? Thanks.

You are certainly not bothering us and we welcome you to ask as many questions you want. We're happy to help.
The most popular brake controller for owner's of the 2014 Toyota Tundra is # TK90160. It is a proportional controller meaning it applies the trailer brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking.
But if it were me I would go with the P3, # 90195, because it has some useful features that other controllers don't. It has easy to understand diagnostics so if there is a problem you will know what it is right away and not have to look up codes. It is also a proportional controller and has a larger range in which it can be mounted than most other controllers.
For either of these controllers you will also need wiring harness # 3040-P to plug the controller right into the truck. I have linked a video showing an example installation using this harness on a 2013 Tundra which will be the same as your 2014.
