Can Tire Chains Be Used On All Four Tires Of 2013 Ford F-150 4X4 Pickup Truck

Question:

I am trying to get tire chains for a 2013 Ford F150 4x4 for use in mud and snow. Can I put them on the front as well? I have seen some comments that they cannot be. Also what particular chain would you recommend? tire size 265/70/r17 Thanks

I did some research of the owner's manual on your 2013 F-150. In the manual it says to only use Class S tire chains.

The manual does state tire chains can not be used on the following tires: P265/60R18, P275/65R18, LT275/65R18, LT315/70R17, P275/55R20, and P275/45R22.

You will want to make sure you have enough clearance when you turn the front wheels to allow the use of chains.

The tire chains I recommend for your 265/70R17 tires are the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains, part # TC2326. These are square link alloy chains with a diamond pattern that provide great traction in snow and ice. The installation of these chains is pretty simple. You just drape them over the tire and connect. Check out the attached photo to make sure you have the needed clearance. These chains will fit your truck if A is a minumum of 1.46 inches and if B has at least .59 inches of clearance between the tire sidewall and the truck.
