How to Use the Stabilizing Strap of a Curt Hitch on Non-Towing Applications

I am purchasing a hitch that requires a stabilizing strap for a non trailering loadsin my case I will be using the hitch for a bike rack. Does the information with the hitch show how to stablize the rack? If not can you tell/show me the best way to do this?

I noticed that you purchased the Curt Hitch # C11412 and you are correct that Curt recommends using a stabilizing strap on non-towing applications. The part recommened is Curt's Trailer Hitch Suppport Strap part # 18050.
One end of the strap connects to your bike rack while on most model vehicles the other end attaches at the top edge of your trunk. The strap has a cam buckle that is used to tighten the strap.
I have attached link to a video that shows an example on how to install this strap.
