Adding a 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector to a 1999 Chevy Suburban with a 7-Way Connector
Question:
Hello, I have a 1999 Chev Suburban K1500 which has a 7 way adapter. Do I need the ETBC7 which has the 4flat and the round 7 way adapter, or can I just add a 4way flat plug to the 7way adapter. Thanks for your response.

If your 1999 Chevy Suburban already has a 7-Way trailer connector but you need to be able to tow a trailer with a 4-Way flat you can use an adapter such as # PK12716. If you want to have both a 4-Way and 7-Way accessible all the time without using an adapter you can add # C55319 to your Suburban. It plugs in line with a wiring harness under the vehicle. I have linked a video showing an example installation.
Basically since you already have a 7-Way you would not need the ETBC7 kit if all you wanted to do was add a 4-Way.
