Which Blue Ox Base Plate kit Fits 2013 Cadillac SRX with Adaptive Cruise Control

Question:

I am looking at the Blue Ox BX1690 base plate for a 2013 Cad. SRX. What is the difference between the two listed. One is for adaptive cruise control and the other is for without adaptive cruise control. I dont see any difference in the two, and the each have the same part number. My SRX has the adaptive cruise control. Thanks

The Blue Ox Base plate kit part # BX1690 that you referenced does fit both the models of the 2013 Cadillac SRX that have the adaptive cruise control or without it so it would work well for you.

For a compatible tow bar and safety cables, one of the most popular options is the Avail, # BX7420. This tow bar has a 10,000 pound capacity which would be more than enough for your SRX.

For lighting, there are several options. However, I know that the SRX does have LED tail lights and the wiring to them can be difficult to reach. I recommend going with a magnetic light kit like # RM-2120. But, I have also included a link to an FAQ article that covers the options for you.

Most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the easiest to set up and use is the Patriot, # BLU37TR. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. Proportional systems are the safest way to stop and reduce wear and tear on both vehicles.

I have also included a link to our series of FAQ articles on flat towing. Make sure that you consult your owners manual to determine the proper procedure for towing the vehicle.
