Recommended 2 Inch Hitch Reciever and 4 Bike Hitch Mounted Bike Rack for 2016 Honda Odyssey

Question:

Will my Odyssey be fully compatible with Curt C13068 and the Hollywood HR400? The only photo you have with a minivan is a Dodge and the clearance looks a bit tight.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III - 2", # C13068 is a confirmed fit for your 2016 Honda Odyssey. This hitch receiver has a 350 lbs tongue weight rating which will accommodate most bike racks.

The Hollywood Racks Road Runner 4 Bike Carrier, # HR400, is designed to work with all 2 inch hitch receivers so it will work with the Curt Class III hitch. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar is 10-1/2 inches. The hitch pin does sit under the bumper a total of 5 inches. That will leave you with 5-1/2 inches of clearance. This rack has a capacity of 150 lbs with combination of the 4 bikes, and the rack itself is around 39 lbs, leaving you 161 lbs of cargo weight behind the rear axle of your Odyssey. With this rack's tilting mast, you can even gain access to that cargo.

If you are concerned about this distance, you may consider a bike rack with a longer distance between the center of the pin hole and the upright, like Thule's Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR, which has a distance of 13-1/2 inches, so this bike rack would give you 3 more inches of clearance.
