Install of 2016 bmw x5 diesel hitch near area code 02038 Hello Id like to purchase a trailer hitch and wiring harness seven prong and four prong for my 2016 X5 diesel I believe I have the part numbers need to verify thanks

the only exclusions for the trailer hitches that fit the 2016 BMW X5, # 75600 and # 13077, is that they will not fit M models.
For trailer wiring I recommend ZCI harness # 119250KIT because with it you will not have to cut and splice into the vehicle wiring for installation. To add a 7-Way you will need kit # ETBC7.
If you plan on using a brake controller the only one I recommend is the Prodigy RF # TK94FR because it mounts on the trailer and only needs the lighting functions and 12 volt circuit active on the 7-Way. A regular in-cab brake controller is not recommended because locating a viable brake switch wire is extraordinarily difficult on BMWs.
Installation of these parts can be done my a trusted mechanic or RV dealer with a service center. I would call around first though because some places will not work on BMWs.
