5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and Install Kit for a 2012 Ford F-150 with 5-1/2 Foot Bed
Question:
I own a 2012 F-150 Fx4 with the EcoBoost, 4 door with the 5 1/2foot bed with the towing package and was looking into campers with a 5th wheel. What would be the best match for this truck in a 5th wheel package? I see the Sidewinder is needed for the one hitch I looked at, is this needed for all? Any recommendations? The trailer will be under 10k pounds.

I have the perfect 5th wheel trailer hitch for your 2012 Ford F-150 with 5-1/2 foot bed. It is the Demco HiJacker # DM8550041. This hitch travels 22-1/2 inches and slides automatically so you will not have to use a Sidewinder.
To install this hitch you just need the proper installation kit for your truck which is # DM8551001. This is an under bed mount so when the hitch is removed the bed will be clear.
If you do not mind above the bed rails in the truck bed then you can use hitch # DM8550040 with installation kit # RP50081-58. Going this route will cost less but you will not have a completely clear bed when the hitch is removed. I have linked some videos on these hitches for you.
