Can Existing Trailer Wheels Handle the PSI Rating of a G-Rated Trailer Tire

will standard rims support G rated tires or do you need to purchase new wheels also

You can check the backs of the wheels you have and see what they are rated for in terms of weight and air pressure. We have one G rated tire, size ST235/85-16, # TTWPRG235R16, rated for 110psi. If the wheels you have are not rated high enough then you would have to also replace the wheels. I would need to know if this tire size is appropriate for your trailer and the bolt pattern of the wheels to determine if we have any that will work. Usually the psi rating is limited by the tire valve stem and not the wheel necessarily.
