Since you already have the tow bar the other items you will need are the base plates, safety cables, and light kit to tow your vehicle behind a RV.
If your tow bar does not have the support bar that goes from side to side and attaches to the two tow bar arms you will need to use the Roadmaster Quick Disconnect Tow Bar Base Assembly # 910021-00. This will attach to the tow bar and connect the tow bar to the base plates on your vehicle.
The base plate kit you will need for your 1997 Honda Civic is the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit # 510-1. These base plates will install on your vehicle and when the drawbars are removed when not being used, the mounting brackets on the vehicle are hidden.
The safety cables you need are the RoadMaster 64 Inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables, # RM-643, these safety cables will keep the vehicle attached to the tow vehicle in case the coupler becomes detached from the hitch ball.
You will need a light system that allows your tow vehicle to signal for turns and stops. The most economical light system to use for turn signals and brake lights on your Civic while it is being towed would be the Magnetic Towing Light Kit, part # RM-2120. These lights use magnets to attach to the rear of your Civic and attach to a 4 way adapter at the rear of your towing vehicle.
Another, more permanent lighting option for you would be a Tail Light Isolating Diode System with Wiring Harness, part # 38955. Once installed, this system would utilize your vehicles tail lights as both turn signals and brake lights.
You will want to check with the manufacturer for instructions on the proper procedure for towing your 1997 Honda Civic because some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, an axle disconnect, drive line disconnect, or free-wheeling hubs before they can be towed.
I am sending a video link to the wiring harness # 38955 being installed on a 2010 Honda Fit. The vehicle is different but the wiring principle is the same.
