For a 4-pole trailer wiring harness for your 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon you can use Tekonsha harness # 118467. This is a simple plug-in installation as shown in the linked video. This harness will provide stop, turn and tail light signals to a 4-pole equipped trailer. A 10-amp fuse holder and fuse are included.
If you need a 7-way type trailer connector you will first install the 4-pole kit above and then add to it the # ETBC7 7-way installation kit which will convert it to that format and also allow addition of circuits for 12V power, trailer brakes and reverse lights. An install video for this kit is linked as well.
To operate trailer brakes you'll need a controller like the Prodigy P2 # 90885.
