Recommended 7-Way Wiring Harness and Brake Controller for 2007 Nissan Pathfinder with Factory Tow

Question:

Hello, I have a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder LE with factory tow package. However, its a 4 pin and I need a 7 pin. Also need a brake controller. I need some help. If I unplug the 4 pin, then this should work correct?C56226 What are the blue and brown wires for? Are they the part that goes into the front passenger side? Second, for the brake controller. This looks plug and play right under the dash. 90195 and 3050P Is there anything I am missing...this seems easy...even for me. Thanks

You are correct, your 2007 Nissan Pathfinder can use the Curt 7-way adapter # C56226 in place of the factory installed 4-way. You may also want a # 18140 and # PK12711U to mount the 7-way on to the rear of the vehicle, this kit will allow you to mount it directly to the hitch with a hose clamp.

The blue and brown boxes with wires are the relay harness, this is the inside kit. This is going to plug right into the factory 12-pin connector, that's going to be located up there in the passenger floor board area. See attached video for similar installation.

The Prodigy P3 brake controller part # 90195 would be an excellent choice for your 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The P3 is a proportional brake controller which means it senses how the tow vehicle is slowing or stopping and applies the trailer's brakes with the same intensity. It also has a full display screen instead of codes that need deciphering. The Tekonsha P2 # 90885 is like the P3's little brother, it has all the great qualities but doesn't have the display of the P3. The Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is the best selling controller on the market because of how easy it is to setup and use, and how well it works.

The correct adapter for your 2007 Nissan Pathfinder is the 3050-P, so connecting the Tekonsha brake controller will be a snap. I have also linked a video installation of this for you to check out.

Depending on what your towing you would want to make sure that you have the proper ball mount and ball or weight distribution system if needed and possibally towing mirrors depending on length of the vehicle. I have linked a few Help Articles on towing for you to check out.

I have also linked all the above products to this page for your viewing and purchasing convenience.
