How to Install Curt Trailer Wiring Harness in 2015 Lincoln MKT
Question:
I recently purchased wiring kits 56146 and 55151 for my 2015 Lincoln MKT as well as a class III Hidden Hitch. The hitch went on fairly smoothly with only one slight modification. But, having trouble with the wiring. How and where do I access the wiring harness on the vehicle? Sounds silly, but cant get started without knowing where the wires are hidden. Thanks

To install the Curt 4-pole wiring harness installation kit # C59236 that fits your 2015 Lincoln MKT you will access the vehicle wiring behind the two taillight assemblies. The pigtail wire leads that exit the converter box's left side attach to your car's stop, turn and running light wires using the included quick-splice connectors. You will also make a ground and 12V+ power connection.
I have linked an installation video showing this kit installed in an earlier model year Lincoln as well as a helpful article to guide you as you route the power wire up to the engine compartment.
The wires at the left side of the converter box connect as follows:
WHITE wire is ground and connects to a bare metal spot on the car
BROWN wire connects to the left taillight's running light circuit
YELLOW wire connects to LEFT turn signal wire on car
RED wire connect to brake light circuit
GREEN wire is run over to the right taillight assembly and connects to the RIGHT turn circuit
BLACK wire connects to the battery's positive terminal using the included wire and fuse holder.
