Does HTAD Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter HTAD Have Solid or Hollow Shank
Question:
Is the 1 1/4inch part of the adapter hollow so it will work with a anti rattle hitch lock?
asked by: Jerry
Helpful Expert Reply:
The 1-1/4-inch shank of the Brophy Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter # HTAD is solid, not hollow, so it will not work with an anti-rattle device like # SHP2082. All 1-1/4-inch to 2-inch hitch adapters have a solid shank for strength. With this adapter you can use a standard hitch pin like # PC2 or a lock like # 5200.
Any hitch adapter will cause you to lose half of your hitch receiver's rated capacity so be sure to check that the weight of the installed accessory does not exceed this reduced limit.
