Question:
I have a 37185 Multi-tow 7 and 4 adapter. I have a Brake controller I have wired all the wires except a purple wire says reverse in the instructions and a black wire that says auxilary power. How should i connect this last two wires? does the AP go striaght to the batter with an inline fuse? if so what fuse size and where would i wire the reversepurple wire into?

Yes, the black wire would be run to the positive battery terminal on your 1996 Dodge 2500, and you would need to use additional wire with a 40 amp circuit breaker in between, like part # 9510. We sell wire by the foot, part # 10-1-1.
The purple wire is used for an auxiliary function, often if a trailer has reverse lights, or if there is another item or function you wish to power. If your trailer has reverse lights, you would simply tap the wire into the reverse light coming out of the truck tail light assembly. If you do not have a need for this wire, it can also just be tied up.
