Where to Run Ignition Switch Wire from ATV Winch Rocker Switch if Installed on a Trailer

Question:

Im using this winch on a boat bunk ramp not a ATV and thus dont have a ignition swich? Where should the the stripped red wire on the rocker switch be connected? When connecting the battery connection I get a spark with that wire not connected?

The ignition switch wire on the Superwinch ATV winch # 1120210 requires a 12 volt connection. Basically it is designed to only let power go through the switch when the ignition is powered on. Since you are not using it on an ATV it would have to be connected directly to a constant 12 volt source. There isn't any other way unless you first ran that wire to a different switch, such as # PK34213. When off it would be as if an ATV was off. When on it would be as if the ATV was running.
