Expert Reply:
Since your 2008 Toyota Tundra has a tow package, it makes installation of the brake controller easier. It depends on how comfortable you are working on your own vehicle, but the install involves some drilling and wiring is simple, as you just plug the wiring in.
To wire the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885, you will also need the Tekonsha Wire Replacement for Toyota and Lexus Vehicles, part # 3040-P, which will allow you to plug one end to brake controller and the other end to the plug under the dash of your 2008 Toyota Tundra.
I have linked a video installation of a Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller with Toyota Adapter, part # 3040-P on a 2007 Toyota Tundra that will show you the ease of installation on your vehicle.
