Brake Controller and Install Wiring Recommendation for 2010 GMC Acadia with Tow Package
Question:
I have a 2010 GMC Acadia SLT with a factory tow package. My question is what all I need to order to install a brake controller. In the car I have a towing wiring harness that has the female end of the connector that will plug into the wire harness connection that is under the dash and taped up to the wiring harness. The other end of the towing harness has five wires at the end 1-blue, 1-gray, 1-white, 1-black, and 1-red with a black line. Can those just be wired directly to a break controller? Or do I need to order a specific wire harness to use with a brake controller I order? I am looking at Part Numbers: TK90160,3026-P or 39510,3026-P Thanks, Todd

To easily install a brake controller in your 2010 GMC Acadia with factory brake controller wiring will only require you to use the proper install harness. For either controller you mentioned all you would need is the pat # 3026-P.
Between the Primus IQ # TK90160 and the Voyager # 39510 the Primus would be the better controller as it has a more advanced accelerometer for detecting the amount of braking power needed.
