Hitch and Brake Controller for 2002 Jayco E-450-Based Class C RV
Question:
Just purchased an 02 Jayco class c on a ford E450 chassis. It currently has a 3500lb hitch installed good for 350 pounds of tongue weight. I tow a 16foot open car trailer with a two door Jeep Wrangler. I have a weight distribution hitch and would like to step up to a 5000lb or 6000lb hitch with at least 500lb tongue weight. Ill also need a brake box. Any help would be great.

We offer frame-mount hitches for RVs like your Jayco that offer tongue weight (TW) ratings up to 750-lbs. The Curt Motorhome Trailer Hitch # C13701 has a 500-lb TW rating which increases to 600-lbs when you use your existing weight distribution (WD) set-up.
If your Jayco has a functioning factory-installed 7-way trailer socket on it then you can use a brake controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 along with the quick-connect Ford wiring adapter # 3035-P. If it has a factory 4-pole harness then you'll also need wire # 10-1-1 and 7-way socket # 37185.
