Recommended Female Semi-Trailer Connector

Question:

Several years ago I built a trailer light and brake tester for my RV. It is a full function unit, using all 7 flat pins. I also use it on our cargo and car trailers. I have a friend who wants to use it on semi-trailers. I have considered selling them. What I need is the right cable end to go into a conventional semi-trailer. I am an experienced automotive electrician. If you guys sell these plugs, please point me in the right direction. Any help would be most appreciated.

Sounds like you are looking for the trailer end plug for your tester that will fit into semi-trailers.

Most commercial trailers will use a 7-way heavy-duty pin setup like # PK11720. The female matching connector for this is the # PK11700 you were looking at. To wire this up to your tester I recommend a length of jacketed 7-wire # DW04914-1, this is sold per foot.

You will also want to verify the pin functions of the trailer, many of the semi trailers are wired with separate wiring, I have linked the wiring diagram to this page for your convenience.

I have linked all the above mentioned products as well as a wiring diagram to this page for your convenience.
