Can the Alarm on Hopkins Backup Sensor System # HM60100VA Be Easily Turned Off
Question:
Can the back-up sensor be easily temporarily shut off from inside the vehicle? I frequently pull trailers boats, ATVs, etc and, having used back-up sensors in the past, the sound can become annoying in these situations. Thanks for the help.

The Hopkins Backup Sensor System - Audible Alert - License Bracket Mount, # HM60100VA, is designed to be wired in with the reverse light circuits so it will only be operating when in reverse and not while towing or parked.
If you are still concerned about that annoying alarm, what you can do is to mount the actual alarm in an easily accessible location. The wire lead on it is not very long and has a connector on the end that connects to a longer strip of wiring that goes back to the sensor. If this connection point between the alarm and the longer harness is within easy reach, you could temporarily disconnect the alarm when you wanted.
