Recommended Bike Carrier For Bike With Fenders On 2007 Subaru Forester
Question:
Hello I have a Norco hybrid Rideau Step thru bike and drive a 2007 Subaru Forrester . It does not have a hitch so I am going to get one installed next week , I have been told that this model car can only take a 1 and 1/4 inch. I am looking for a platform rack with the following features - not sure if such a thing exists - am I looking for a unicorn - a magical beast ? ! - holds 2 bikes - able to hold bike with fenders - built in hitch lock and rack /bike lock -easy / quick to install when needed - I am a middle age lady fairly fit - ability to tilt away w bikes on rack so can access the trunk - sturdy and good quality the link for my bike is : http://www.norco.com/bikes/city/hybrids/rideau-step-thru/rideau-st/ I was looking at the Thule double track but it would need an adaptor and that might not be stable /secure for that particular rack I also was looking at the SwagmanXTC2 Although I really like the stability of the platform hitch if nothing would be suitable then I would be open to the hanging racks and would love to hear your recommendations Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The platform-style bike carrier I recommend for your Hyundai is the Thule Doubletrack part # TH92BJ. This hitch mount bike carrier has locks that secure the bikes to the rack and also a lock that secures the rack to the trailer hitch.
Since the center mast has the hooks that hold the bikes in place you will have no problem with bikes that have fenders.
