Can Dacromet Disc Brake Assembly Be Upgraded Later With Stainless Steel Rotor
Question:
I need to replace the brakes on my tandem boat trailer. I am in salt water. If i go with the kodiak SS caliper kit with the coated hubs could i upgrade to the SS rotors at a later date? that way i can get it done now and maybe in a couple years upgrade the rotors?

If you purchase a Kodiak Disc Brake Assembly like part # K1HR35D that has Dacromet plating, you can upgrade the components to stainless steel at a later date. The stainless steel disc brake assembly I recommend is part # K2HR35DS.
If you decide at a later date to go with a stainless steel rotor, part # KR10S would work well with the brakes.
Please keep in mind that purchasing any of the brake parts separately does wind up costing you more in the long run, but I do understand upgrading at a later date may work best for you.
