Which Hitch Size is Recommended for a 2011 Nissan Rogue to Carry Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack
Question:
If im going to be installing a hitch and this is the only thing Im going to use it for, would it be better to go with the 1 1/4inch hitch vs the 2inch since I wouldnt have to use the adapter? Will this be a more secure fit? Also does the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack come with the anti rattle threaded bolt you have to wrench on or do you need to buy that separately? I have a 2011 Nissan Rogue SV AWD.

I typically try to recommend 2 inch hitches when they are available as they have higher towing capacities and since there are more hitch accessories made for that size they offer more flexibility.
That being said, the 1-1/4 inch size is smaller and less noticeable than a 2 inch hitch so from an aesthetic point of view I can see the appeal of a 1-1/4 inch hitch. The Saris Freedom part # SA4412B can fit either size hitch and would work just as good in either.
For a 1-1/4 inch hitch for your vehicle the part # 36542 has been confirmed as a fit. For a 2 inch hitch the part # 75902 would be the correct one to use.
