Since your truck has a 6-1/2 foot bed, but you're looking for a fixed 5th wheel hitch, it sounds like your trailer has a Sidewinder pin box.
The 5th wheel hitch I recommend for you is the Reese M5 Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30928. This 5th wheel hitch offers a 20,000 pound towing capacity with a 5,000 pound vertical load limit, and it will fit industry standard rails like those already installed in your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. With the 4-way pivoting head and the 9 inch wide funnel, the Select Plus help make connecting your truck and trailer easy even if on uneven ground. The Select Plus will also work well with a Sidewinder king pin.
I have attached a review video of this hitch for you.
The Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16130 that you referenced is not compatible with Sidewinder or Reese Revolution pin boxes. The Q-Series hitches have cushioned heads that keep the Sidewinder from functioning properly. If your trailer has a Sidewinder, the Curt Q20 will not work for you.
If you'd also like to add a 7-way vehicle side trailer connector to the bed of your truck, a great option is the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness # C56000. I've attached an installation video of this wiring harness for you as well.
