2006 Ford F-350 Integrated Brake Controller Troubleshooting: No Trailer Connect Message

Question:

Good afternoon, We have a 2006 Ford F-350 we use to pull our gooseneck flatbed. All the running lights, brake lights, and taillights work correctly, but I have no trailer brakes at all. The stock brake controller indicates no trailer is connected and throws a fault when I use the slide to test the brakes. In your experience what do you believe may be the issue causing this?

What you described sounds like a short on the brake output circuit. What you will need to do is go over the trailer's brake output circuit looking for anything obvious that would cause a short like exposed wire or corrosion and fix as necessary.

I also attached a help article on brake controller troubleshooting for you to check out as well.
