Trailer Hitch, Cargo Carrier, and Cargo Bag for a 2015 Honda Fit
Question:
the hitch Receiver/C11406 , the cargo carrierC18145 and the cargo bag mt70209. My question is, I noticed the placement of my muffler and it looks like it may interfere and melt my carrgo bag. Is this correct? Since you recommend all of the above, what should I do, or buy so this does not happen? I am 70 yrs old, my son will install the receiver and carrier. I used to have this set up for a 2003 Honda Element. Had to sell those things for Element as would not work on my Fit now. Do you have smaller carrier bags, that might not sit so close to the muffler?

The exhaust on your 2015 Honda Fit should be angled downward. If it is angled downward then it would not be a problem when carrying cargo on a cargo carrier. If it is straight then it could be a problem and I recommend a different cargo carrier, # C18110.
This carrier has a rise in the shank so the carrier platform will be higher up (this also helps with ground clearance).
Since you plan on using the hitch for a cargo carrier I recommend Draw-Tite hitch # 24920. The reason is that the Curt hitch # C11406 requires the use of a stabilization strap, # 18050, per Curt's warranty requirements. Draw-Tite does not have that requirement.
If you choose to go with the Curt hitch then I have linked a video showing an example of how the strap could be used.
For a cargo bag, if needed, the recommended bag is # e98990.
