Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a Rockwood 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
What would be the best hitch to attach to my Rockwood 8289 WS ultra lite fifth wheel??? I am only going to carry 2 mountain bikes.

For your Rockwood 5th wheel trailer I recommend Curt hitch # 13703. This is the most versatile RV hitch we have. It fits frame widths of 22 to 72 inches, C-Channel, I-Beam, and Box frames, and it can be bolted or welded-on (welding should be done by a professional welder). I have included a link to a video showing an example installation for you.
When using this hitch with a bike rack or cargo carrier Curt requires the use of stabilization strap # 18050 for their warranty requirements. The strap reduces some of the stress on the hitch.
Also, there are only certain bike racks that are rated for use behind a trailer because there is considerably more force at the back due to the distance of the rear end from the rear axle. I have included a link to the options for you. I recommend a platform style carrier such as # S44FR which can handle a wider variety of bikes than a hanging style carrier.
