Special Fitting Needed to Install Supplemental Transmission Cooler on a 2011 Lincoln Navigator
Question:
I have a 2011 Lincoln Navigator with a 5.4 liter motor. Apparently the manufacturer uses a quick connect type fitting when they ran the transmission lines to the radiator. My question is as follows, will part D13025 allow me to disconnect the existing transmission return line from the radiator and place in part D13025 directly to the radiator and then put on the flexible rubber hose and hose clamp that you supply? Reason being is that I do not want to cut the factory lines as I may want to remove the cooler in the future. My truck does not have an existing cooler. Also do you know if the rubber hose you supply will fit on to the factory return line or will it be too small. I know that sometimes the braided rubber hose will not flex much. Thanks for the help and sorry for the run on sentence.

You are correct. Fitting # D13025 threads into the radiator on your 2011 Lincoln Navigator so you will not have to cut or flare the metal lines to install a supplemental cooler.
A cooler such as # D13503 includes the hose, clamps, and hardware to mount it so the fitting # D13025 is the only other part you'd need. They are the appropriate size to match the lines to/from the transmission.
The fluid will flow from the transmission, into the stock cooler located inside the radiator, then into the supplemental cooler, and then back to the transmission. When mounting the cooler the best place for it is behind the grille in front of the AC condenser and radiator where it will get the most airflow. I have included some helpful links on transmission coolers for you.
