The installation of the Prodigy P3, part # 90195 is very simple if you have a 7-way connector at the back of your Tacoma. You will also need the plug-in adapter, part # 3040-P. One end of the adapter plugs into the back of the P3 and the other plugs into the port located under the dash to the left of the emergency brake pedal.
If you have a 4-way connector you will need part # ETBC7. You will plug the ETBC7 into the 4-way and will need to do some additional hardwiring. I have attached a link to an installation video for a brake controller on a 2009 Tacoma you can check out.
If you do not have a 4-way connector on your truck I recommend part # 118496. I have also attached a link to an installation video for this harness.
For weight distribution, you will need to know the capacity of the system and also need to know the tongue weight of your trailer when it is fully loaded and ready to tow. Tongue weight is the tongue weight of the trailer added to the weight of any cargo you are carrying behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I have attached a helpful article that explains weight distribution. We do not offer the EAZ Lift weight distribution system. You want to make sure your tongue weight of your trailer is within the range of the system you are using.
