How to Measure to Get a Ball Mount with the Right Rise to Tow Trailer Level with 2013 Kia Sorento
Question:
Looking at the hitch on the KIA Sorento and the trailer, the trailer is quite a bit higher. The trailer will have be lowered down to the hitch and will not have a level load. Is there a riser or adapter to fix this?

All you will need is a ball mount that has the right rise to be able to tow the trailer level with your 2013 Kia Sorento. To find the amount of rise you will need there are a couple of measurements needed.
With the vehicle and trailer on level ground measure from the ground to the top of the hitch receiver opening.
Then level the trailer and measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. How ever much the trailer is higher than the receiver measurement is the amount of rise you will need. I have included a link to a help article that shows how to measure for rise and drop.
The 2013 Kia Sorento could have a Class II, 1-1/4 inch receiver or a Class III, 2 inch receiver so I have included a link to our ball mount main page and you can select a ball mount based on what your hitch requires.
