How Do Powered Trailer Jacks Draw Power, From Battery or 7-Way

Question:

I have purchased electric jack with wireless remote with a 3500 LB. capacity ...... My question is from my understanding I do not need an additional battery for the lift it should run off of the 7 way plug that hooks directly to the trucks battery. Well how does the original wires from the trailer which is needed for all lights etc. For traveling hook up to the new jack? And how do I know which wire goes where? And once the wires are attached to the new lift if that is what I have to do is that all I need to do for everything to work properly?

The Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF38-944037 that you referenced would simply plug into the 7-way at the rear of your tow vehicle and would draw the power needed for the jack to work from the vehicle battery.

Most all other tongue jacks are hard wired to the trailer battery directly. A good example is the Lippert # LC285318 tongue jack rated for 3500 pounds.
