Winch Recommendation for Winching 600 lb Jon Boat and Trailer Up Incline

Question:

I have a KandL Industries pro 102 fishing boat which weighs 165# without trolling motor battery etc .I live on a lake and I store my boat on a side of my backyard on decline 15foot from the waterincluding 10foot boat size on pvc capped tubes which I partially buried . I need a winch my guess 600# w/ 15strap that will handle the load easily since I will be doing the winching by myself and at my age its very difficult w/o a winch. Can you suggest what winch ratio I need and a suggestion for the best quality winch and strap.Thank you in advance-

The higher the rating for the winch the easier it will be to winch your boat and trailer up the incline.

The Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch, TUFFPLATE Finish, Two Speed with Direct Drive # DL14730 that you referenced has a 2,000 lb capacity so it should work very well to winch in your 165 lb jon boat and trailer that weighs total around 600 lbs. This two speed jack will has ratios of 12.4:1 and 5.4:1.

For a strap you would then want the part # DL24249. This is 25 feet long.

I also attached a link to a help article that details how to pick out a hand winch.
