Roof Rack and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2010 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen

Question:

Im looking for a bike rack that can hold 4 bikes. My kids are small still so their bikes are not heavy. Weve been using a Thule Doubletrack rack with two adult bikes and bungee corded my son 7 years old bike to one of them. We drove from SF to LA round trip with nor problems. Any recommendations? We have a class 1 tow hitch apparently. Thanks

The only way I can safely recommend you carry 2 more bikes on your 2010 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen that has a Class I hitch is to go with a roof rack mounted option since Class I hitches can only carry up to 2 bikes.

For a roof rack you would want the part # MPG215 to give you a set of crossbars for the raised rails that run front to back on your roof.

Then for front wheel mounted rack you would want the Thule Sidearm part # TH599000 for each of the additional bikes.
