How to Install Trailer Connector on a 2010 Ford Escape with Tow Package
Question:
we look under my 2110 ford escape for plug location but didnt see the protective cap. is it below the brake light on the driver side. do i have take off the brake light.

You will not need to remove the brake light. Underneath the Escape, you should see the plug attached to the bumper. Remove the cap, and plug in the harness. This connector will only be active on models equipped with the factory tow prep package.
In some cases, it is possible to install the 3 of the # TR38665 relays in the fuse box under the hood to activate the tow package wiring, but before purchasing the relays or the 118251, you should closely examine the socket in the fuse box where the relays would insert. If there are NO metal contacts in the socket, the tow package circuit is incomplete and adding the relays will not activate the circuit.
If this is the case, you will need part # 118551.
