Does the P3 Brake Controller Have to Be Connected to a Trailer to Display Voltage
Question:
I watched the video install on 2013 Silverado. It shows when applying the brakes the numbers come up on the screen without trailer hooked up. When I apply mine with out trailer it just shows the regular screen. Now when I have the trailer hooked up it showed the numbers fine when brakes applied. Did I hook something up wrong? Thanks in advance.

In order for the P3 part # 90195 to start applying voltage to the brake output circuit the controller has to first detect that a trailer is connected to the tow vehicle. In the video you referenced there was a trailer connected to the truck.
Your controller is working just fine.
