Equal-I-Zer Weight Distribution Not Working as Well with 2014 Nissan Titan as it Did with GMC Sierra
Question:
I recently traded my 2006 GMC sierra 1500 HD crew cab, LWB pick-up for a 2014 Nissan Titan SV crew cab. I use an Equal-izer WDhitch to tow my 30ft TT. Trailer wt is 6780 lbs. The set up on the GMC worked great. Nissan rates the Titan with a tow rate of 10,300 lbs. The Titan pulls the trailer without a problem, except the trailer seems to lift the front end of the truck, which gives you a feeling of the tail wagging the dog when traveling on interstate hwys and being passed by large rigs. Are there some other adjustments I need to do to the hitch to correct this? It is a little scary when you feel a loss of control at 65 mph when large rigs pass you.

Since you now use the 2014 Nissan Titan to tow the trailer you will want to go back and set up the weight distribution again as if it were the first time. Different vehicles react differently to weight distribution and you may need to make a few adjustments and do some fine tuning so that the truck and trailer are level when towing.
If you don't still have the installation instructions/manual for your system you can use the one I have linked for you. Once you have gone back and set it up again from the beginning I anticipate you will have a better towing experience.
