One Arm of Roadmaster Falcon Tow Bar Unlocks When Motorhome Brakes
Question:
Tow bar on left side facing back of motorhome will lock, but when traveling, when I apply brakes arm releases and let bar slide in which makes car not tow correctly. What can I do to correct this problem? Thanks

Over time, dirt and debris can build up on the retracting portion of the tow bar arms. When the arms retract, this dirt is carried into the interior of the tow bar, and can foul out the locking mechanism on one or both of the tow bar arms. This is what I believe happened.
You can try cleaning the tow bar using the # RM-9911 Voom spray cleaner, and see if that solves the problem, but I (and my Roadmaster representative) believe your best bet would be to use the # RM-910003-60 repair kit to rebuild the latching system on both sides. This part number applies to the Falcon All-Terrain Tow Bar.
The cleaning instructions are listed in the tow bar owner's manual. If you no longer have a copy of the owner's manual, let me know and I'd be happy to email you a copy.
