Highest Capacity 13 inch Trailer Tire Recommendation

Question:

Hello, I am looking to replace the 175/80 D13 tires on a 2002 Viking Legend 2645ST that I am purchasing. The camper has an UVW of 2680lbs. GVWR is about 3300. While searching online I see these tires readily available however the stated load rating in every description is 1360 per tire. With 2 of these of course the total is 2720. This means to me that oem tires are barely above the empty weight of camper im disregarding tongue weight. They cannot handle the GVWR. Am I missing something?

If the total weight of your pop up camper is 3,300 lbs then you would need a wheel/tire combo that at least has the capacity of 1,650 lbs.

The closest tire we have to that capacity in your size is the part # AM10210 which has a 1,610 lbs at 65 psi capacity.

Your best option would be to bump up to the slightly taller tire size of 185/80-13 like part # AM1ST79 which has a 1,725 lbs at 65 psi. This tire fits the same rim size as your current size and is not even 1/2 an inch taller in diameter.
