Recommended Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Trailer to Tow a Second Light Weight Trailer

Question:

Im looking for a trailer hitch to attach to my 5th wheel. It has a bumper made of steel 4 3/8 square. It is bolted and welded to the frame so I think I can attach a hitch to it. I would be pulling a light weight trailer with quads on it. It does need to be a receiver type hitch

We generally do not recommend towing a trailer with a trailer. It is illegal in many states, so you will want to check with the DMV in any state you travel through. Also you will want to check with the manufacturer of your fifth wheel to see if the bumper on your trailer is designed to support any additional weight due to its construction. Some fifth wheels are, and some aren't.

That said, it sounds like you may have a 4 inch continuously welded steel RV bumper so you can use the Curt RV bumper hitch with 2 inch receiver # C19101. This hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight: 3,500 lbs, but your trailer's bumper weight capacity may be less.

I have included a video review of this trailer hitch for you to check out as well.
