Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Lamp-Out Sensor Bypass Not Working on 2013 Porsche Cayenne
Question:
Hi, I bought this adapter to bypass the lamp out indicator on my 2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel, but it doesnt work on my vehicle. I keep getting the same error messages without the adapter in place and with the adapter in place. The LED trailer works fine on American vehicles but not in my 2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel. Porsche said I need an adapter with a resistor in it...do you have anything like gaff for my vehicle?

If your Cayenne was designed for the US market and you are still getting the errors when using the adapter # 20142 then you likely need more power draw beyond the resistors in the adapter. You can achieve this by installing load resistors such as # DI34ZR for a 2 pack. Wire one in line on the trailer side wiring on any affected circuits to create more draw so the vehicle thinks the LED lights are regular incandescent lights.
If your 2013 Porsche Cayenne has a European configured 7-Way trailer connector the adapter # 20142 and similar adapters will not work with the European configured trailer connector.
