How to Secure E-Track to Thin Wood so That it Can Handle Securing the Weight of a UTV

Question:

Hello, Im thinking of installing e-track of d-rings on my Triton trailer, but the decking is made from 1/2 inch marine grade plywood. I will be hauling a UTV and was hoping to secure it to the floor. However, I am not confident that 1/2 inch plywood would hold. What is your opinion? Many thanks.

Expert Reply:

For your application you would want to use the E-track backing plate part # e96RR so that you can secure the track to the floor adequately. This would work well with the # EM59150 and would allow it to have enough capacity. It installs on the opposite side of the floor as the E-track to give it adequate support.
