Hardware Needed to Install Titan Zinc-Plated Surge Brake Actuator # T4747220
Question:
I purchased Titan Surge Break Actuator from etrailer. The bolts on the old Titan I wish to replace. For some reason the old 3/4 inch bolt an lock nut were not installed with washers. I notice that this installation was on the razor edge of holding the bolt and nut without cutting through the bolt holes on the Titan actuator. The lock nuts only show a thread or two of the bolt past the lock nut nylon. Could you recommend a bolt length and type that would work well with this Titan and the 3 inch trailer tongue. Thank you I probably just reading to much into the issue.

Thanks again for your purchase. We really appreciate your business.
As for mounting the Zinc-Plated Surge Brake Actuator, # T4747220, Titan recommends using at least Grade 5 hardware and lock nuts. You can just use the 2 holes for a 5/8 inch bolt or for added strength you can also use the remaining 3 holes for a 1/2 inch bolt as well. A 4 inch long bolt should be sufficient but you will want to make sure that there are at least 2 or 3 threads on the outside of the lock nut once you have everything tightened down.
When it comes to washers, this is strictly optional. If you choose to use them, once again, you will just need to make sure that the bolts that you are using are long enough to have at least 2 or 3 threads showing past the lock nut. A local hardware store should have everything that you will need to complete the installation.
