7-Way and Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2005 Chevy TrailBlazer
Question:
I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer SS. It has the factory bracket on the hitch but the 7 way plug is not there. I have a large boat that was converted to a flat 4 way connector. I want to go back to a 7 way round so I can utilize the trailer brakes. Do you have a plug that will fit the factory bracket? If so is there any plug and play wiring for a brake controller for my vehicle? Thanks

For a 7-way that would install in the bracket of your 2005 Chevy Trailblazer the part # PK11916 would work well as long as you have the harness for the 7-way. However, since your vehicle does not have a trailer connection currently you would need a few more components to install a brake controller and make the 7-way functional.
You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 1191250KIT.
From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
If you do have 7-way wiring on your vehicle you could install a brake controller just by wiring it to the wires under the dash of your vehicle. Check out the help video I attached that covers this.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
